About Woonsocket Community Health Center
The new Woonsocket Community Health Center is located in Woonsocket and just recently opened up in September 2014. The new clinic provides a full range of family medicine and primary health care services. Additionally, screenings and occupational tests for large employers located in Woonsocket and Alpena are conducted at the Woonsocket location. The nearest hospital is in Wessington Springs, 16 miles west of Woonsocket.
Woonsocket Community Health Center accepts all insurance and offers reduced prices on office visits and all other services provided in the clinic to all individuals and families who qualify through the Sliding Fee Program.

Community Highlights
The town of Woonsocket is known as the town with the beautiful lake. Lake Prior has an island with a bridge, new swimming pool, and two resident swans. Its abundant fishing and 100 foot water fountain offer fun for all. Woonsocket is home to over 60 businesses and services including VanDykes Taxidermy which is known worldwide for its glass eyes and taxidermy supplies. The K-12 school system is NCA accredited and has an attached community library. There are several hunting lodges that offer excellent pheasant, deer, coyote, duck, and goose hunting as well as two campgrounds, two city parks, skate park, youth baseball and softball, swimming lessons, and snowmobiling.
