Community Highlights
Mission Community Health Center is located in Mission, SD on the Rosebud Sioux Indian Reservation. The Rosebud Sioux Indian Reservation is home to the Sicangu Lakota Oyate, which translates to Burnt Thigh People. This area is rich in both culture and heritage of the Sigangu Lakota, located in the heart of the Great Sioux Nation. Breathtaking canyons, rolling hills, herds of bison, colorful community celebrations and seasonal rodeos greet travelers to this area. Mission is also the childhood home of Bob Barker, former host of The Price is Right, and Neil Wanless, recent winner of the $232 million Powerball. A small community, Mission offers a taste of both the beautiful scenery of the Black Hills and the traditions and cultural events of the Sicangu Lakota Oyate.
