About Mellette County Community Health Center

Located 23 miles south of I-90, White River is a gateway to the Badlands and Rosebud Reservation. Mellette County Community Health Center is located in Mellette County, designated a frontier county with a population density of 1.6 people per square mile. Our highly-skilled Certified Physicians Assistants serve the community by providing Family Medicine Services with support from three physicians in Winner, South Dakota. Additionally, we offer referral and specialty medical services through Telemedicine technology.

Mellette County Community Health Center accepts all insurance and offer reduced prices on office visits and all other services provided in the clinic to all individuals and families who qualify through the Sliding Fee Program.

Community Highlights

Settled in 1911, White River has become known as favorite area to experience Frontier Days, fishing, rodeos, powwows, champion high school basketball and other outdoor activities. White River has a student-focused school system with a wide variety of extracurricular activities including volleyball, cheerleading, golf and a small shooting range. White River is known as the place where the prairie skies meet western life.
