(HURON, SD) – Horizon Health Care, Inc. (Horizon) is pleased to introduce Kristin VanBuskirk, CNP, as the newest medical provider at James Valley Community Health Center. Kristin joins providers Len Wonnenberg, PA-C, Paul Brown, PA-C, Amanda Adams, PA-C, and Dr. Ruth Lim to provide primary care medical services at the James Valley Community Health Center.
A graduate of Mount Marty College in Yankton, SD, VanBuskirk holds a Master’s Degree in Pediatrics and a Post Master’s Degree in Family Practice. Prior to joining Horizon, VanBuskirk has been previously employed with the South Dakota Department of Health. Most recently, she was employed as a Nursing Instructor at Presentation College in Aberdeen. “I love my profession! There is always a new opportunity to be the best part of someone’s worst day,” said VanBuskirk. “Helping others has always been a passion of mine.”
A Hitchcock native, VanBuskirk enjoys playing volleyball, traveling and camping with her husband, Patrick, three sons, Caden, Sawyer and Carson, and daughter Karter.
VanBuskirk will be available for appointments at James Valley Community Health Center beginning the week of March 20th. “I enjoy working in small rural communities because you become family with your co-workers and personable with patients,” said VanBuskirk.
