(Eagle Butte, SD) – Horizon Health welcomes Katie Jewett, FNP-C, as the newest provider at its Eagle Butte clinic. Jewett is currently a nurse at that location.
She will join provider Bailey Keckler, CNP, in caring for patients in Eagle Butte and the surrounding community.
Prior to joining Horizon, Jewett was a registered nurse and patient care technician at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota; a certified nursing assistant and registered nurse at Avera St. Mary’s Hospital in Pierre, South Dakota; and a registered nurse at Indian Health Service in Eagle Butte. She was a nurse at Horizon prior to becoming a nurse practitioner.
“I chose to pursue my Nurse Practitioner degree so that I can help to provide my rural community with healthcare services,” Jewett said. “We all have a role in keeping our small communities thriving and I feel that my best contribution to our area is promoting and delivering healthcare services to my friends, family and fellow community members right here at home.”
She earned an Associate of Science Degree in Nursing from the University of South Dakota in Vermillion, South Dakota in 2012 and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from there in 2013. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing with a Family Nurse Practitioner specialization in 2024. In 2015 she was chosen as the Avera McKennan Outstanding Nurse Council Member.
Jewett is originally from Pierre, and currently lives in Isabel, South Dakota. She is currently available for appointments in Eagle Butte.
