(HOWARD, SD) – Horizon Health is pleased to welcome Curtis Collins, DDS, back to Horizon Health as a dentist at the Howard Dental Clinic. Dr. Collins will join Chief Dental Officer Michelle Scholtz, DDS, Erin Entringer, DDS, Kylie Hodges, RDH, and Megan Palmquist, RDH to provide dental care services to the Howard community.
Dr. Collins previously worked for Horizon for three years at the Wessington Springs Dental Clinic. He worked for one year at Anderson Dental in Rapid City, South Dakota.
Prior to working for Horizon, Collins attended the University of Nebraska, graduating in 2012 with a degree in Exercise Science. He then went on to receive a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2020 from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Lincoln, Nebraska.
“I got into Dentistry mainly because when I was little my dentist made going to the dental clinic fun, and I hope to do the same not only for kids but for everyone,” Collins said. “The people of rural South Dakota are amazing, and I look forward to getting to know some of them and helping them with their dental needs.”
Collins is originally from North Platte, Nebraska. He and his wife Andrea have five children: Alicia, Amelia, Easton, Cecilia and Payton. In his spare time, Dr. Collins enjoys sports, Husker athletics, fishing, hunting, coaching his children’s sports teams and spending time with family. He has been involved in dental outreach programs like Smiles for Miles, Children’s Dental Day, Mission of Mercy, and Hope for Honduras. His community involvement includes mentoring programs, church youth groups, and coaching youth sports teams. He is currently available for appointments at the Howard Dental Clinic.
