(Mission, SD) – Horizon Health is pleased to welcome Carrie Kocer, CNP, as a new provider at its Mission medical clinic.
In Mission, Kocer joins fellow providers Jill Moser, CNP; Briana Broschat, CNP; Alyssa Hicks, CNP; Teresa Marts, MD; and Rachele Vietor, PA-C.
Originally from Wood, South Dakota, Kocer received her Associate’s Degree and Bachelor of Science in nursing from Dakota Wesleyan University in Mitchell, South Dakota; and her master’s degree in nursing from the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks. She has a special interest in family medicine and wound care.
“I have learned so much from my patients over the years and I enjoy spending time with them and their families,” Kocer said. “They have become family to me, and I cherish the memories and life lessons they have taught me.”
Kocer brings to her nurse practitioner role 20 years of experience in nursing including two years working for Horizon in Mission. She was a staff nurse at Winner Regional Health Care from 1998 through 2013. Her work there included medical and surgical specialties, obstetrics, emergency room and charge nursing duties. She was an operating room nurse including surgery supervisor from 2015 to 2022. In 2015 she was certified in wound care.
In Wood, Kocer shares her home with her husband, John. They have three children: Dacey and son-in-law Cohl, Gabriela and son-in-law Layton, son Browdy and grandson Audie. When not sharing her knowledge of primary health with her patients, Kocer enjoys spending time with her family and working on their ranch.
