A graduate of the University of Minnesota – School of Dentistry, Dr. Haley is originally from Mitchell, SD. Prior to joining Horizon, she previously owned Dental Health Partners in Mitchell.

“My goal is to provide comprehensive, gentle care to my patients,” said Dr. Hilary Haley, DDS. “I want to help guide and educate them, so that we can become partners in their dental health.”

Haley joins a team of two current providers in both locations (Dr. Nick Thome, DDS and Dr. Brady Weispfennig, DDS) to provide quality dental care to the Wessington Springs and Plankinton communities. Dr. Haley is currently available for appointments at Jerauld County Dental Clinic and Aurora County Dental Clinic. Her hobbies include cooking, reading, walking and spending time with her children: Jake, Nick and Brooke.

Melissa joins current providers David Rollason, PA-C and Geralyn Hahne, PA-C to provide primary care medical services to the McIntosh and Isabel communities.

“Rural health care is my passion, and the reason I chose my profession as a Family Nurse Practitioner,” said Melissa Nehl, CNP, DNP, APRN. “Working at Horizon will allow me to give back to the communities that raised me. I look forward to serving patients and their families, and helping to improve health care access in rural South Dakota.

A recent graduate of the University of Mary, Nehl holds a Doctorate of Nursing Practice degree. Nehl, a Watauga, SD native, is currently available for appointments at McIntosh Community Clinic and Isabel Community Clinic. Her hobbies include spending time on her family’s cattle ranch, riding horse, hunting and playing bass and singing in her band, The Broken Spokes.

A graduate of St. Louis University – School of Medicine, Dr. Peña is originally from Chamberlain, SD. He completed his undergraduate studies at Colorado State University, and previously spent five years as a Physician at Sanford Health.

Peña joins a team of six current providers in both locations (Sarah Newton, PA-C, Katie Stearns, CNP, Meghan Torgerson, CNP, Donna Linke, CNP, PMHNP, QMHP, Dr. Lance Lim and Dr. Tom Dean) to provide quality medical care to the Wessington Springs and Fort Thompson communities. Jennalee Olsen, CNP, Joins Aurora County Community Health Center

Jennalee joins current provider Melissa Davis, CNP to provide primary care medical services at Aurora County Community Health Center.

A graduate of Clarkson College, Olsen holds a Master’s of Science in Nursing degree as a Nurse Practitioner. Prior to joining Horizon, Olsen has been previously employed with Sanford Chamberlain Medical Center as a Registered Nurse.

“I believe in providing quality, holistic care to each patient as if they were part of my own family,” said Jennalee Olsen, CNP, who is currently available for appointments at Aurora County Community Health Center.

Olsen is a White Lake native, who has made her home in Plankinton. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of South Dakota, graduating with a degree in Nursing. In her spare time, she enjoys camping, boating, crafting and spending time with her husband, Beau and daughter, Hanley.

Bennett attended Dakota Wesleyan University, graduating in 2013 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biochemistry, and is a recent graduate of Union College with a Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies.

“I believe that everyone, no matter where they are at in life, deserves quality health care from a provider who is willing to take the time to listen and develop an individualized care plan for each patient,” said Leah Bennett, PA-C.

A recent graduate of the University of Minnesota – School of Dentistry, Dr. Kohler is originally from Verndale, MN. She completed her undergraduate studies at Concordia College in Moorhead, MN, graduating in 2013 with a degree in Chemistry.
“My goal is to work with my patients to provide quality care that is tailored to their individual motivations and needs,” said Dr. Kohler, who previously worked as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the South Dakota State University Chemistry Department.

Dr. Kohler is currently available for appointments at Prairie Winds Dental. In her spare time, she enjoys running, biking, cooking and traveling with her husband, Dan.

“My goal is to provide patient-centered, quality dental care to the community, with an emphasis on preventative care and patient education,” said Dr. Edelburg, who has been involved in volunteer work through Mission of Mercy. A recent graduate of the University of Minnesota – School of Dentistry, Dr. Wilen is originally from Belle Fourche, SD. He completed his undergraduate studies at South Dakota State University, graduating in 2013 with a degree in Biochemistry.

“I enjoy the relationship with my patients and the ability to still work with my hands in dentistry,” said Dr. Wilen. “I am excited to be back in western South Dakota!”

A graduate of Walden University, Franke holds a Master’s of Science in Nursing degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner. Prior to joining Horizon, Franke has been previously employed with Rapid City Regional Hospital as an ER Nurse and Cardiovascular Nurse.

Franke, who is currently available for appointments at Martin Community Health Center, is originally from Rapid City, SD. In her spare time, she enjoys camping, hiking, paddle boarding and other lake activities with her daughter, Genesis.

A graduate of Walden University, Tucker holds a Master’s of Science in Nursing degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner. Prior to joining Horizon, Tucker has been previously employed with Winner Regional Health Care Center and also through R Vision Medical Staffing as a traveling RN.

Tucker will be available for appointments at Mission Community Health Center beginning March 28th. “I enjoy helping others,” said Tucker. “I treat all patients as I would want my family treated.”

Originally from Winner, SD, Tucker received her undergraduate degree from the University of South Dakota. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, camping and fishing with her husband, Mark, and two sons, Gavin and Gage.
