Bennett County Community Health Center

Located in a newly constructed clinic, the Bennett County Community Health Center is well-designed with two intake rooms, nine exam rooms, a minor procedure room, as well as a fully equipped dental facility.  The clinic is attached to a healthcare center comprised of a 20 bed community hospital, a 48 bed long term care center, and a home health agency.

Community Highlights

 

Within an hours drive of Martin, there is hiking in the beautiful scenery of the Badlands as well as several small lakes for fishing.  Angostura Recreational Lake is within one and a half hours from Martin which has plenty of water area for boating, jet skiing etc. with sandy beaches along side in addition, Evans Plunge is warm natural water swimming indoor pool within 1 and a half hours at Hot Springs, SD. Martin also has a nine-hole golf course and a small target shooting range.

 

For the hunting enthusiast, this area is popularly known for its pheasant, deer and antelope hunting and near Rapid City, there are trails for dirt biking and four-wheeler jumpers.  Snow skiing, snow boarding and snowshoeing is available at Terry Peak and Deer Mountain about a 2 and a half hour drive from Martin.  A  small in-door movie theater is open on weekends, and there is a quilting store in town that does quilting classes fairly regularly.  Martin has a Little Britches rodeo during the 4th of July along with other community activities in the local park.  There is a parade of lights at Christmas time when the community decorates floats garnished with Christmas lights.  Martin has an exercise and weight room in the basement of the school auditorium that the public can use, plus the exercise room here at the clinic.  Martin has four dine-in restaurants and two fast food restaurants.  4-H is available for the kids, along with archery and BB gun shooting sports.  High school sports include volley ball, boys and girls basketball, wrestling, golf, and track.
