Alicia Adkins, DMD                                                                                     Dr. Alicia Adkins, DMD, originally from Kentucky, received her BA degree in biology from the Asbury College in Wilmore, Kentucky from 1996-2000.  In 2000, she attended the University Of Kentucky College Of Dentistry in Lexington, Kentucky.  In 2004 she received her dental degree and began her professional experience in Bethel, Alaska.  She and her family survived the cold winters in Alaska for three years prior to moving to South Dakota where she practices as a staff dentist for DeSmet Dental Services, DeSmet, South Dakota providing preventive family dentistry.  Dr. Adkins is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry. 
   
Andrew Binamira, MD
Dr. Binamira is an internal medicine physician in DeSmet. He received his M.D. from Cebu Institute of Medicine in the Republic of the Philippines. His internal medicine residency was completed in Atlantic City Medical Center, Atlantic City, NJ, where he also received chief resident from July 1998 to June 1999. Dr. Binamira is a board certified Internal Medicine physician who specializes in family medicine, cancer care, geriatrics, emergency care and cardiac care and sees patients at Bell Medical Service in DeSmet
   
Karen Bumann, Physician Assistant - Certified, MPAS
Karen Bumann completed the Physician Assistant (PA) program at the University of North Dakota in January 1994 and then obtained a Master of Physician Assistant Studies degree from the University of Nebraska with a specialization in Family Medicine.  She started her PA career at Howard in February 1994 through the National Health Service Corps and has practiced at the Lake Preston and Howard clinic sites since that time.
   
Angela Chambers, PA-C                                                                        Angela Chambers, Physician Assistant Certified received her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Des Moines University, Des Moines, IA in August of 2007.  Ms. Chambers began her clinical career at Mission Medical Clinic in Mission, South Dakota in October, 2007.  Ms. Chambers specializes in providing primary and emergency health care services to patients in Todd and Mellette Counties. 
   
James Cody, Family Nurse Practitioner and Physician Assistant - Certified
James Cody received his nursing degree from Montana State University and completed the nurse practitioner/physician assistant program at the University of North Dakota School of Medicine in 1979. He came to Plankinton in 1979 through the National Health Service Corps and has remained in practice there since that time. Mr. Cody specializes in family medicine, urgent care, preventive medicine and geriatrics.
   
Thomas M. Dean, MD
Dr. Dean received his M.D. with distinction in research from the University of Rochester School of Medicine in Rochester NY in 1972. His internship and Family Practice residency were completed at the University of Washington Hospital in Seattle, Washington. Dr. Dean returned to his native Wessington Springs, SD in 1978 as a National Health Service Corps physician. He sees patients at the clinics in Wessington Springs, Woonsocket, and Plankinton. Dr. Dean is board certified in Family Medicine and specializes in child and adult medicine, geriatrics, orthopedics and trauma, and preventive medicine. 
Dr Dean works part-time in issues of health policy and medical leadership.
Larry DuBray,  Physician Assistant
Larry Dubray attended college at the University of South Dakota for Business Administration, as well as the school of radiologic technology to be a certified x-ray technician, and then went back to school to become a physician assistant being certified in 1976.

Larry does family practice and emergency services.  Larry was a candidate for the Metropolitan Whos Who among the Metropolitan Professional Honor Society.

   
Kerfala Fofana, PA-C                                                                             Kerfala Fofana, Physician Assistant Certified began working for Horizon Health Care, Inc in December of 2007 and works primarily at the Mission Medical Clinic and helps out when needed at Mellette Co Clinic in White River and at the Bennett Co Clinic in Martin, SD.  Kerfala received his Masters in Physician Assistant Studies at Union College in Lincoln, Nebraska in May 2007.  He was born and raised in Guinea, Africa and is now a US citizen.  Kerfala specializes in family and emergency medicine.    
   
Tracy Grossman, DDS                                                                                 Dr. Tracy Grossman, DDS joined Prairie Winds Dental an office of Horizon Health Care, Inc. in June of 2008.  Dr. Grossman is a recent graduate of the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree.  He grew up in Ortonville, Minnesota where he attended high school.  In August of 2000 he attended St. Johns University and received a Bachelor of Art, Major Natural Sciences degree in May of 2004.  Dr. Grossman is a member of the ASDA/ADA and Academy of General Dentistry and is a recent graduate of the University of Minnesota School Of Dentistry in Minneapolis, MN. 
   
Terri Groves,  Physician Assistant - Certified
Terri Groves received her diploma in Nursing from St Joseph School of Nursing in Sioux City, Iowa.  She received a Bachelor of Science in Health Care Management from Bellevue University at Omaha, Nebraska in 2000, and in 2006 achieved her Masters Degree in Physician Assistant Studies at the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks.

Ms. Groves sees patients in Wessington Springs and Woonsocket, where she provides family medicine, emergency care, preventive medicine and geriatric care.  She has a special interest in cancer awareness and prevention, and end-of-life issues. 

   
Dr. Robin Hattervig, DDS, Dental Director
Dr. Hattervig is a native of rural Carthage SD, a graduate of the University of South Dakota and the University of Nebraska of Dentistry.  He is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate and has earned numerous awards including the Academy of General Dentistrys Fellowship award.  Dr. Hattervig moved to Howard in July 1984 began his own dental practice and has been providing quality dental care to the residents in the Howard and surrounding areas for nearly 20 years.   On November 1, 2003 Dr. Hattervig and his staff joined Horizon Health Care, Inc. and has been appointed the dental director for the organization.       
   
Lorinda Holland, Certified Nurse Practitioner
Lorinda Holland received her nursing degree from Mankato State University in Mankato, MN in June 1988. Ms. Holland completed the nurse practitioner program at South Dakota State University in Brookings in 1997. Ms. Holland sees patients in Bryant and DeSmet, and specializes in family medicine, emergency care, preventive medicine, and geriatrics.
   
Lori Kollmann, Physician Assistant - Certified
Lori Kollman received her nursing degree at Sioux Valley School of Nursing in May 1984. Lori completed her physician assistant program from the University of North Dakota School of Medicine, Grand Forks, ND in 1996. Ms. Kollmann sees patients in Howard and specializes in primary care and family medicine.
 

 

   

Lance Lim, MD, Medical Director
Dr. Lim is Medical Director of Horizon Health Care, Inc. He attended the Cebu Institute of Medicine in the Philippines, and completed his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at St. Francis Medical Center in Pittsburgh, PA. He recently completed a 12-month fellowship in Spinal Cord Injury Medicine at the VA Medical Center/Harvard Medical School in West Roxbury, MA. Dr. Lim will provide primary care services, as well as special expertise in dealing with musculoskeletal problems such as arthritis and the accompanying difficulties some patients experience with ambulation, gait abnormalities, and the use of devices to support treatment of these problems.

   
Betty Kalblinger, Physician Assistant-Certified
Betty Kalblinger began practicing in 1952 in Valentine, Nebraska. She attended family nurse practitioner school and then went on to receive her physicians assistant certificate. Ms. Kalblinger has been providing services to the area for over 20 years.
 

 

   

Dr. Michael Medeck, DO

Dr. Michael Medeck was born in Miller, South Dakota and grew up in the Huron area.  He attended the University of South Dakota and received a Bachelors of Art Degree in Zoology.  Dr. Medeck then attended Des Moines University/College of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery where he received his Doctor of Osteopathic degree.  He completed his internship in Miami Beach, Florida.  Dr. Medeck had his own private practice for 10 years in Sturgis, South Dakota and 30 years in Seattle, Washington.  Dr. Medeck and his wife reside in Martin, South Dakota and have 3 grown children.   

   

Keri Orstad, MD                                                                                           Dr Orstad completed the Family Practice Residency Program at Mercy Medical Center, Mason City, Iowa, in June of 2008, where she served as chief resident during her final year.  She earned her medical degree from the University of South Dakota School of Medicine in Vermillion, and her BS in Chemistry from the SD School of Mines and Technology in Rapid City.  Dr Orstad is certified in Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Advanced Trauma Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics, and Neonatal Resuscitation Program.

   
Christopher Reneer, DDS
Dr. Reneer graduated from Brigham Young University in 1988 and from dental school in Richmond, Virginia.  He relocated temporarily to Wellington, Colorado.  Dr. Reneer enjoys college football, vacations, skiing, golfing, shooting and family time.   

 

Shelly Selland, Certified Nurse Practitioner
Mrs. Selland received her Associate Degree in Nursing from Dakota Wesleyan University in 1994 and was employed at hospitals, clinics and nursing homes in the area for 9 years.  While working as a psychiatric nurse for Community Counseling Services in Huron, she obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from South Dakota State University in 2005. She received a Master of Science in Nursing / Family Nurse Practitioner degree from South Dakota State University in May of 2007 and has been working for Siouxland Staffing Services, an agency that provides coverage for clinics across the state of South Dakota.

   
Marilyn Seymour, Physician Assistant
Marilyn Seymour has been serving the Mellette County Clinic full time since 1984. Ms. Seymour specializes in family medicine, urgent care, preventative medicine, geriatrics and womens health care.
   
Nancy Webb, Family Nurse Practitioner
Nancy Webb received her certificate as a Family Nurse Practitioner October 1, 2003. She also received her certificate of completion as a Certified Nurse Practitioner in September of 2003. She graduated with a masters in nursing with an emphasis in family practice and graduated in 2003 as a Family Nurse Practitioner. Ms. Webb was hired for the Martin facility in November 2003.
